Destinations
Paris and Northern France
Northern France, with its lush countryside and market towns, is much
more than just a stop off en-route to or from the ports. Get to know
its historic, cobbled streets, ancient woodlands and famous battlefields.
The coastline is impressive too, with long golden sandy beaches backed
by idyllic countryside. The vibrancy and elegance of Paris of course
needs no introduction…
Whether you’re looking for an action packed, lively holiday or a relaxing break, Paris has it all. The Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, tree lined boulevards and world famous museums create that perfect photo opportunity. Join Mickey and co. at France’s premier theme park: Disneyland Paris is less than 30 miles from the heart of Paris and less than 10 miles from our nearest site. The rural, unspoilt charms of northern France provide a wonderful antidote to such manufactured antics and this quiet region is a real breath of fresh air.

Brittany & Normandy
A striking area whose beauty lies not only in the landscape. Although
famed for its seafood and Celtic tradition, some areas of Brittany and
Normandy remain untouched and wonderfully old fashioned. Hand out the
shrimping nets and head to the many rock pools along the coast. After
a hard day on the beach light the barbie, sit back and enjoy a refreshing
glass of local cider.
With over 1800km of coastline, varying from rugged cliffs and jagged inlets in the north, the dramatic pink shoreline in the west and the long sandy beaches and estuaries of the south, Brittany caters for all tastes and age groups. And if you choose to escape from the coast the interior has endless quaint towns and villages, each rich in folklore and steeped in their own individual traditions. Set in rolling pastures this picturesque area of the country is quite simply one of France’s best kept secrets.

The Vendee & Charente
It’s not only the fine beaches that make this holiday region
so appealing. Sleepy fishing harbours, historic ports and charming towns
all create a great holiday experience. With a sunshine record to rival
the French Rivera, watersports galore and the warm Atlantic waves, it’s
easy to see why this is one of the most popular areas of France for
couples and families alike. The traditional ‘every child should
have one’ accessory for the Vendee is without doubt the bucket
and spade - and with good reason. From St. Jean de Monts to Royan the
coast is virtually unbroken with fragrant pine forests leading down
to gently shelving sandy beaches. A perfect setting for the most ambitious
of castle builders!
Visit the spectacular Chateau of Puy de Fou, set in the dramatic grounds of an 18th century village, which makes for France’s most atmospheric and compelling son et lumiere. Then why not stop off for some fresh fruits de mer on the way home. Complement with some frites from the campsite take-away, et voila! Dinner is served.

Atlantic Coast
Endless beaches, watersports aplenty, pine forests, the fine wines
of Bordeaux and the chic city of Biarritz – it’s easy to
see the allure of the Landes region. This is truly a region of superlatives.
Clamber up the highest sand dune in the world for superb views out to
sea (Dune du Pyla); take a bike and a picnic and explore the world’s
largest man-made forest (the Landes); set sail on vast inland lakes;
feast on oysters from France’s largest beds; and of course spend
lazy days enjoying the endless ribbon of silver beach running 110km
from Bordeaux to the Pyrenees.
The region offers superb cuisine, from Basque influences around the Spanish border to the endless ways of serving up duck. They say everything is used apart from the quack.

South West France
From the snow capped peaks of the rugged Pyrenees, through the rolling
fertile plains of Gascony to the sleepy honey-coloured villages of the
Dordogne this is a mesmeric region.

With scores of high altitude lakes and the highest point in the French Pyrenees you are never far from a breath taking view. Less intrepidly, soak up the atmosphere of the Armagnac’s sunflower fields and vineyards, then doze to the distant chiming of ancient bells in sleepy villages linked by meandering country lanes. In the Dordogne region you are spoilt for choice: world class castles, underground grottoes, prehistoric cave paintings, boat trips, cliff-hanging mediaeval villages, canoe trips and more.

Rhone Valley and Provence
A spectacular region of craggy gorges and scented hills that conducts
life at a leisurely pace – not surprising when there are so many
stunning views to take in. With such a rich and varied landscape, the
Ardeche is a perfect area for those seeking an active family holiday.
For the energetic there’s cycling, horse riding or even white
water rafting to keep occupied. Or for those who enjoy a more leisurely
pace, the remote areas are a haven for bird watching and walking. The
main focal point of the area is the Pont d’Arc, a massive natural
arch spanning the river Ardeche - admire it from the shore or take a
closer look by hiring a canoe for the afternoon.
A popular trip is to Aven d’Orgnac a series of vast caves and astonishing limestone rock formations. The illumination underground adds to the ambience and can be a welcome relief from the midday sun during summer.

Burgundy & Eastern France
Think breathtaking chateaux and cathedrals,
think rolling hills and endless vineyards,
think superlative cuisine and sumptuous wines – Burgundy and eastern
France has it all.
Driving through the picturesque Burgundian countryside is like driving through the pages of a well thumbed wine list. The names of the quaint and unimposing villages and towns sound vaguely familiar and the invitations to wine tasting are hard to ignore. But with such a wide variety of world renowned wines on your doorstep, why not splash out on a bottle or two! Head further east and the wine labels may be less well known but you’ll quickly be intoxicated by the clean, clear air and heady mountain views as you approach the Alps.

Spain
With glorious beaches, a fantastic sunshine record, vibrant towns and laid back sleepy villages, Spain has all the ingredients for a great family camping holiday. They say variety is the spice of life. If that’s so then Spain will leave you feeling full of zest. From the rugged foothills of the Pyrenees to cosmopolitan Barcelona, the Costa Brava is steeped in the old and the new. Along with endless traditional white-washed villages, rocky coves and sandy beaches, this region of Catalonia is not short of places to explore. In contrast the Costa Dorada leans heavily towards the sun and sea worshippers and with good reason: the warm Mediterranean waters lapping along 150 miles of golden sandy beaches. And there’s Spain’s green coast, the Costa Verde with some of the richest and most varied scenery in the whole of the country.
The Low Countries
The Low Countries are an excellent location for those wishing to sample some real European culture and traditions without having to travel too far from home. There’s something for everyone here. The Ardennes region bordering on the Belgian/Luxembourg border is a great place to discover wonderful castles, monasteries, gardens and country inns where you can choose fresh trout from the stream. The cosmopolitan city of Luxembourg is surrounded by areas of rolling hills ideal for walkers. And of course Holland is a great base for cyclists wishing explore the peaceful flat, Dutch countryside, stopping off to admire all that The Netherlands is notorious for; traditional clay windmills, blossoming tulip fields and flat cornfield farmlands.
If chocolate is your thing, then head to one of Belgium’s 2,130 chocolate shops and try a famous Belgian Praline: a delicately sculpted chocolate shell concealing a rich centre – delicious!
Central Europe
From alpine forests to shimmering lakes, Central Europe covers some of the most dramatic and exquisite scenery across the whole of the continent. One of Germany’s most popular tourist destinations is the Black Forest, stretching along the German border from Switzerland to France. Acre upon acre of densely packed fir trees, hill top meadows and gently sloping valleys, this region is a walker’s paradise. Austria’s Tyrol region is characterised by mountainous ranges, peaceful lakes and dense forests, scattered with picture postcard market towns and villages with colourful balconies and blooming flower boxes. Switzerland continues the theme of breathtaking mountain scenery and, with more than two thirds of the country’s land being mountainous, with every corner you turn each view seems more dramatic than the last.
